Introduction

Caritas Pakistan is the social arm of the Catholic Church that focuses on promoting Justice, Peace and Development. It was established on 8th December 1965 and operates on a mandate given by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Pakistan. "Caritas" is a blend of Latin words "Caro" meaning "I Care for You" and "Carita" meaning "Love or Charity".

Caritas Pakistan Lahore is one of the seven Diocesan Units (Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad,  Karachi and Quetta) in the country.  It is actively working under a Board to improve social and economic conditions among the poverty-stricken masses, creating awareness, organizing and educating from the nucleus of helping people to become self-reliant communities.  The Archdiocese of Lahore comprises of the following civil boundaries which give details of the Parishes in the district and the areas in which animation work is in progress:

Lahore District
Sheikhupura District
Gujranwala District
Hafizabad District
Narowal District
Sialkot District

To achieve the goal and to implement the mandate given by the Catholic Bishop's Conference, Caritas Pakistan Lahore now has the following departments:
