Though the Catholics recite the Holy
Rosary on 365 days of the year, but the Holy Church dedicated the months
of May and October to the Holy Rosary. During these months the Catholics
recite the Holy Rosary either in the Church or in front of the Grotto of
Mother Mary. There they meditate on the life of Jesus Christ and His
Glorious Good News in the light of the twenty Mysteries; Joy, Light,
Sorrow, and Glorious. In this way we repeat Nicene Creed, Our Father,
Hail Mary, and Glory be to the Father on a daily basis. These religious
practices are being performed since several years and it is our faith
that the same would go on till the Last Day. In these two months the
believers offer their Intentions to God through Mother Mary and receive
the blessings of the God. After fulfillment of their Intentions the
believers offer the Holy Mother embroidered Veils (dupatta), Garlands,
and Gold or Silver Crown as a token of their gratitude and love. But, do
the Holy Mother needs all these offerings, and worships ? No. Not at
all. All She wants is that we lead our life on the footsteps of her Son,
Jesus Christ.
There was a time when daily family prayers of Rosary was the requisite
for every Catholic Christian family before retiring to bed. But, we feel
that inclination of daily family Rosary prayer is diminishing day by
day. Some attribute it to their hectic schedule, different time tables
of family members or they do not have the time at all. But we tend to
forget that the daily Rosary prayer is not only the witness of blessings
but also is a bond of love, harmony and sacrifice in the family for each
other. If we say our Rosary prayer daily, we get closer to God by the
grace of the Holy Mother. In a week's time we get to know about the life
of Jesus Christ, His miracles, Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension
along with life of Mother Mary, her attachment with Jesus, cohesion with
Almighty God and His Glorious Mysteries. After the Lord's Prayer, we pay
tribute to Mother Mary along with Angle Gabriel and ask her to plead for
us at the time of our death because Mother Mary is the only human who
followed the commandments of God during her entire life. The concept to
conceive by a virgin is and was not acceptable in society, but the
Virgin Mary offered herself unconditionally for the Salvation of the
human race without any regard to the worldly respect. She brought up her
Son, Jesus for thirty years, remained with Him and was concerned for the
welfare of others; the first miracle at Cana (change of water into wine)
is the best example. She made Jesus Christ an obedient Son of God as she
herself was. She remained with Christ, felt his sorrows and was with Him
at the time of His Crucifixion. At that time the prophesy of Simeon "And
a sword will pierce through your own soul also" was completed. The
handing over of Mother Mary to St John at the time of His Crucifixion
was in fact to declare her as our mother as well. From that time she
remained with the Apostles and preached the Gospel of Christ through her
life and according to our faith She was Raised to Heaven where she is
concerned about us every moment and pleads for us. Let us, with
the bottom of our hearts, pray for those who are not giving Her due
respect and honor, "May God give them sense, intelligence and wisdom to
accept Her, from their hearts, as the Mother of God, and the testimony
of the Gospel of Christ: and God give us the Divine Guidance that we not
only from our words but with our deeds be a real son of Virgin Mary so
that we may proclaim with the Angles, Saints and all the nations of the
world "For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed".
Amen
