LIVESTOCK PROGRAM FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT
BACKGROUND
Pakistan is an agriculture country and most of its
inhabitants are engaged with this sector. Women are 52% of the population and
they are playing a vital role in agricultural activities. She is working hard to
help male farmers in the cultivation of crops. She is also managing the many
household works like cooking, washing clothes and child care etc.
In spite of this all, she is spending her life in very tight
situation. She has to ask for money to her husband for the basic needs of life.
The family economic condition is also miserable. Therefore, this goat project
has been launched with women for the development target community and especially
women. She is already involved with agriculture activities. This project would
support her to earn something for her family.
GOAL
To work for utility of poor farmer families through empowerment of women
OBJECTIVES
- To provide loan to female member through CBO
- To impart technical skill regarding Care & Cure of livestock
- To train female for the establishment of their IGPs
ACTIVITIES
- Selection of suitable member
- Beneficiary sign promissory note
- Beneficiary will pay 20% service charges against loans.
- Proper maintenance of record will be practiced
- Training to the Executive body regarding record keeping
- Training to beneficiaries about the stock care & cure
- Training about small businesses
- Collaboration with existing institutions
STRATEGY
- Program will be launched through Cooperative Societies
- Agriculture Coordinator will arrange fund for
- Agriculture Coordinator will arrange training
- Agriculture Coordinator will consult Veterinary Doctor
- Agriculture Coordinator will arrange monitoring & evaluation visit of
Diocesan Executive Secretary, National office and Partner Agency with the help
of the Cooperative Executive body.
- CBO Executive / CBO will sign an agreement with CPL as custodian of loan
given to them by CPL
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR BENEFICIARIES
- Beneficiaries should be the member of Cooperative Society
- She should be saving regularly
- She should show strong social unity & commitment toward development
- She should not be defaulter of any other organization
- Size of her family land holding should not be more than 5 acre
- Member should have at least 6 month saving before loan reception
Loan amount will be disbursed against saving
